Olin's report lists organisations hiring Full-Time MBA students alphabetically, with no counts per employer. Examples: Amazon, Apple, Bank of America, Boeing, Capital One, ExxonMobil, General Mills, JPMorgan Chase, Mastercard, Microsoft, Walmart and Wells Fargo.

Olin's Career Prospects page lists employers that hire, among them Amazon, Boston Consulting Group, Deloitte, Eli Lilly & Company, EY-Parthenon, FedEx, Salesforce and Starbucks, and says it has more than 28,000 alumni.

Olin's cost page shows Fall 2026 entry, at 2026-27 academic year rates and assuming graduation in May 2028. The total of $150,920 is four semesters of $37,730. Olin shows the amounts in dollars.

ItemPer semester
Tuition$36,350
Program Fee$900
Student Government Fee$130
Health and Wellness Fee$350
Total shown$37,730

Olin's cost page conflicts with itself: it calls the $72,700 tuition the estimated tuition for the entire programme, but it equals two semesters of $36,350, and the $150,920 total equals four semesters. This page shows the per-semester figures and the four-semester total.

Olin says tuition and fees can rise during the programme, typically 3% to 5% a year, set each spring. Rates for Fall 2027 entry are not on the page we read. Extra semesters beyond the set number carry tuition at a credit rate.

The table leaves out housing, living costs, books and health insurance. Olin says Washington University requires full-time degree-seeking students to carry health insurance: buy its plan or prove other cover, or you are enrolled in the plan and billed.

Olin says it charges no application fee for the Full-Time MBA. It does not publish an enrolment deposit amount or date on the cost page, the apply page or the FAQ.

Scholarships

Olin says every admitted applicant is automatically considered for merit-based scholarships, with no separate application unless noted. The criteria are those for admission, 'but at a more competitive level'. You are told in writing at the point of admission.

ScholarshipWhat you get and who it is for

Olin's FAQ says you select the signature scholarships you want inside the application and complete a brief survey. You may be considered for several but awarded only one, and it may be combined with Olin's Dean's Scholarship. Olin does not publish Dean's Scholarship amounts.

Olin also lists The Consortium, The Forte Foundation, Reaching Out and resources for U.S. military veterans.

Loans and funding

Olin names WashU Graduate Center funding opportunities, outside scholarships, Federal Student Aid and private student loans. It does not publish loan terms or the share of students on aid on the page we read.

06 · Process

From application to decision

  1. Submit the application

Complete the online application with the required items: a one-page resume, unofficial academic transcripts, the required essay, the career prompt and, for international applicants, English proficiency scores. Olin charges no application fee.

Olin says decisions are made on applications submitted by 11:59 pm CT on the deadline.

  2. Committee reviewAfter the deadline

Olin says its Admissions Committee reviews each applicant with objective and subjective criteria, takes a holistic approach and uses no formula. Reviews happen on an ongoing basis, starting around each round's deadline.

Olin says test scores sent after you submit may not be in review for that round.

  3. Interview

Olin does not mention an interview step on the apply page, the FAQ or the programme page we read. It does not say whether interviews are held.

  4. DecisionBy the notification date

Olin notifies you by the 'Notification by' date shown for your round in section 04. If you are offered a scholarship, you are told in writing at the point of admission.

  5. WaitlistNot published

Olin does not publish a waitlist process on the pages we read.

  6. After admissionTo enrol

Official transcripts and valid official test scores are due no later than two weeks before the start of orientation programming for those who enrol. Olin does not publish an enrolment deposit amount or date.

Olin says the unofficial versions are enough to apply.

07 · What you need

What goes into the application

1. Eligibility

Olin says applicants must hold the equivalent of a US bachelor's degree from an accredited institution at the time of enrolment. It says most international three-year degrees meet this requirement; its FAQ says a Higher National Diploma (HND) is not equivalent to a bachelor's degree. Olin's FAQ says there is no minimum work experience.

Olin says WES or ECE evaluations are not required.

2. GMAT or GRE

Olin recommends a GMAT or GRE but does not require one, and says no waiver is needed. Without a score the committee considers factors such as a strong undergraduate GPA, quantitative skills, an advanced or terminal degree (JD, MD, PhD, quantitative MS), a quantitative professional certificate (CPA, CFA), a military officer's rank, or an expired GMAT or GRE. Codes: GMAT R4T-WG-61, GRE 6929.

Olin says scores must be released on submission, online versions of the GMAT and GRE are accepted, and unofficial scores are enough for the decision. It does not say Focus or Classic, does not publish a score validity period or minimum scores, and does not mention the Executive Assessment.

3. English test

Olin says most international applicants (non-US citizens or non-US permanent residents) must submit a TOEFL iBT (5.0 on the new scale or 90 on the old), IELTS Academic 6.5, GATEWAY English 495 or Duolingo 125, valid up to the application deadline. Expired scores are not accepted. TOEFL code 6929.

Olin says exemptions are reviewed by the Office of the Provost and requested in the application portal. Its FAQ says citizens of countries on its exemption list can get a waiver and others are reviewed case by case.

4. Essays

Olin's apply page lists a required essay, a required career prompt and two optional essays.

Essay: Personal statement (required, 500 words maximum)

At WashU Olin, we recognize that our community is comprised of individuals who come to us from different pathways and perspectives. Similarly, each student's journey during and after the program is unique. Please provide a personal statement that describes how your life experiences have shaped your decision to apply to graduate school and how you believe WashU Olin will help you achieve your long-term professional and personal goals.

Essay: Career prompt (required, 250 words maximum)

Please describe your ideal career path after graduation from business school. In your response, outline your immediate post-graduation role, as well as your mid- and long-term career aspirations, and explain how this degree will help you achieve them.

Optional essay 1 (250 words maximum)

What distinguishes WashU Olin from other programs you are considering, and why is that important to you?

Optional essay 2 (250 words maximum)

Is there anything else you would like to share? If so, please provide additional information not previously addressed in the application that would help the admissions committee assess your candidacy.

Olin's FAQ says the optional essay can explain employment gaps or academic-history concerns, and is required if you select that you have a history of criminal or university violations. Olin mentions no video or written assessment on the pages we read.

5. Resume and transcripts

Olin requires a one-page resume. It accepts a longer one but encourages concise descriptions. Unofficial transcripts are accepted for the decision.

6. Recommendations

Olin's FAQ says letters of recommendation are not required, and the required items on its apply page include no reference.

08 · What Olin wants

How Olin reads your file

Olin says each applicant is considered by its Admissions Committee using both objective and subjective criteria, with no formula, and that it takes a holistic approach with specific interest in the six areas below. It publishes no weighting.

Professional potentialOlin names it. It asks for a one-page resume and a career prompt on your immediate post-graduation role and your mid- and long-term aspirations.
Leadership qualitiesOlin names it. Its signature scholarships describe the leadership they are for, for example a track record of leadership or service for Gateway Leaders.
Communication and interpersonal skillsOlin names it. It does not say which part of the application it reads for this.
Demonstrated achievementsOlin names it. It does not say which part of the application it reads for this.
MotivationOlin names it. The personal statement asks how your life experiences shaped your decision to apply and how Olin will help you reach your goals.

Olin does not say which application item it uses to judge which area. The pointers above are the items that cover similar ground.

Olin also says it keeps a relatively small class on purpose so every student has an individualised experience, and that it values diversity by accepting candidates with varied backgrounds, skill sets, cultures and talents.

See how your file reads against these areas before you spend weeks on the application.
